For the past three years, I visited the following places in search of stories from early Chinese immigrants in rural parts of the West Coast in the United States: Armona, CA / Angel Island, CA / Eight Dollar Mountain, OR / Fiddletown, CA / Fresno, CA / Hanford, CA / Lemoore, CA / Locke, CA / Marysville, CA / Oroville, CA / Porterville, CA / Waldo (near present-day Takilma), OR / Weaverville, CA / Yreka, CA. ​
